Chip and Jo Give a Run-Down Tiny House a Total Makeover for an Adventurous, Young Couple
Cameron and Jessie Bell currently live in a 690 square foot house and love the cozy charm of small-scale living. While they're not necessarily looking for a larger space, they do want a place to call their own; and they need Chip and Joanna's help. They're looking for the character of an older home, and aren't afraid to brave the filth and grime that comes with years of disrepair. The first house they visit is nicknamed "The Duplex House." Formerly a duplex, as the name suggests, it has a more closed off and quirky layout that will need some opening up. "The Transition House" is next, with highlighter-green paint on the exterior and an overall ravaged appearance on the inside. Last, they visit "The Shotgun House." This house is also abandoned, falling apart, and is the smallest of the three. Because it is a shotgun house, all the rooms are conjoined, making for very little privacy in the bedroom.
Making New Family Memories in Rural Texas
For the first time ever on Fixer Upper, the tables are turned for Chip and Joanna. Instead of taking potential homebuyers on a tour of houses, this time it's the clients who are showing them a house. Sterling and Casey Zan inherited a 2,000 acre ranch from Sterling's grandfather, who she affectionately calls "Paw Paw." When he passed away, his house sat abandoned on a beautiful corner of the lot for almost ten years. Sterling has a lot of fond memories of the place, and hopes Chip and Joanna can restore it to its former glory. Chip warns her that the house is in serious disrepair and would need a hefty amount of work. While they have $160,000 in their budget to work with, the list of damage is lengthy and they would have to carefully prioritize fixing up the areas that need it most. Chip also knows of other rural properties in better shape that the Zans might be interested in, but he lets them consider their options before they make a decision.

Couple With Baby on the Way Looks for a Funky Fixer Upper
Chip and Joanna Gaines take Jill and Josh Barrett on a tour through three houses in the established neighborhood of Wooded Acres. They're looking for a house that will accommodate Josh's four kids and the couple's new baby on the way. The Barretts want a home with a unique look, an open floor plan and an amazing kitchen. They'd like a house that's fun and fresh. A house that's a new slate for them representing their new life together. The Gaines offer an eclectic group of houses from traditional to contemporary.
The Gaines' Carpenter and Family Seek Urban Environment
Chip and Joanna Gaines take a tour with clients Clint and Kelly Harp through the Brook Oaks neighborhood. The Harps are big city transplants looking for a house with an urban feel. Clint works long hours creating custom carpentry and furniture for Magnolia Homes and wants a house close to his business so he can be close to his young family. Joanna describes the Harps as fearless and adventurous introducing them to a range of homes from conventional to disastrous. Will the Harps choose the almost move-in ready traditional or charmer home? Or will they take on a house affectionately called,The Beast, by Joanna who fears a crime scene is buried in the debris. Chip says the house needs not only a demolition but also an exorcism. It'll be a lot of sleepless nights for all parties if this courageous couple takes on The Beast.
Physicians Seek Farmhouse For Growing Household
Chip and Joanna Gaines are in Robinson, Texas, looking for a farmhouse for clients Rebecca and Joel Mahan. The couple are family physicians with three kids of their own and more on the way. The Mahans plan to adopt several foster children and need at least 4 bedrooms and 5 acres to accommodate their growing family. Joel says he's ready to cowboy up and live like a farmer even though he doesn't even own a lawn mower. Joanna calls the project 'tricky' after hearing unfavorable feedback from Joel on the Gaines farmhouse followed by a dose of buyer's remorse. Can the Gaines appease this doc's despair? Or have these physicians taken on more than they can handle?
Young Family Embraces Revitalization Efforts Making Their Own History
Joanna and Chip introduce clients Charmaine and Chuck to the historic Sanger Heights neighborhood. The young family wants to be a part of the revitalization efforts of this once thriving community where many of the homes are either vacant or dilapidated. Have they taken on more than they bargained for? Joanna and Chip will have their work cut out for them and will have to use every bit of their vision and know-how to take on what could be an enormous project.

An Old Friend Who Returns to Waco Hopes to Find a Family-Friendly Fixer Upper
Chip and Joanna Gaines take Jo's old high school buddy Jonathan Gulley and his wife Amy on a tour through three houses in the suburban neighborhood of Woodway, Texas. The Gulleys are returning to Waco after a 10-year hiatus in Chicago to be closer to friends and family. They're seeking a 4-bedroom home with a large kitchen, nice garden and a big backyard for their 2 kids, 2 dogs and extended family. Amy's biggest fear is flooding after a disastrous experience at their previous home. Will they choose the 'Fun House' with the funky multi-layered layout? Or will their choice be the 'Neat and Tidy Ranch House' with tons of trees but a very vanilla exterior? Or will the winner be the 'Tire Swing' house with the sloped backyard? Chip's nerves are on edge as the Gulley's new house shows signs of previous flood damage on top of an unexpected $8,000 HVAC problem. Could this deal mean the end of a long friendship for the Gaines and the Gulleys?
Single Mom Starts New Life With Fixer Upper
Chip and Jo take a tour with single mom Karla Griffis through the Castle Crest neighborhood of Waco, Texas. After a difficult divorce, Karla's ready to move on from the hardest time of her life to the happiest. Chip calls Castle Crest the Heartbeat of Waco, where every home has its own charm and unique story - an ideal place for new beginnings. Can Chip and Jo create the perfect home for Karla's new life while they go through their own transition? Watch the surprises unfold as Chip approaches a big birthday and Jo's present puts her in peril!
Space in the Suburbs
San Diego transplants Mary and Dustyn are on the hunt for their family's dream home in Waco, Texas, and they're looking for a four-bedroom with a large yard and open space for hosting. Their all-in budget of $375,000 leaves them lots of room for substantial renovations, so Chip and Jo lead the couple on two house tours in the quiet neighborhood. Similar in price, their first option has a beautifully landscaped backyard with a rough interior and front yard, while the second house has some beautiful features and a backyard that needs some work. When Mary and Dustyn are faced with the tough decision, they turn to their kids for the deciding vote.
Most Eligible Bachelor Finds the Perfect Home for Entertaining
After living in New York for years, 37-year-old bachelor David Ridley is returning to his roots in Waco, Texas. His all-in budget is $272,000 and he wants to stay close to the Mountainview area because of its proximity to Lake Waco. Chip and Joanna are excited for the challenge of finding a home for the man they consider to be Waco's 'most eligible bachelor.' They take David on a tour of three spacious lakeside houses. The Red Roof House is the first house they visit, and David is taken aback by its funky and odd 1960s style. Their next stop Chip dubs the Bachelor Pad. The inside is wide open with high ceilings, perfect for hosting. The backyard is smaller than David was hoping for, but the inside of the house holds so much potential, he really has to weigh his options. The Peach House is last, clearly outdated and in need of some work.
Searching for a New Homebuilder's Dream Home in an Old Neighborhood
Chip and Joanna Gaines take Genny and Russ Davis on a tour through three homes in Woodway, Texas. Woodway is considered "upper-crust", an established neighborhood with older homes, large trees and massive yards. They want to move to Woodway because of the city's reputable school district. However, Genny Davis is a real estate agent and Russ builds new homes for a living and they are a bit reluctant to move into a fixer upper - a fact that distresses Chip but inspires Joanna. Will the Davis' choose the "Tree House" with the pool, massive fireplace and monster tree blocking the front door? Or will it be the asymmetrical "Stonehenge House" Chip says looks like an airplane and Russ describes as over-the-top masculine? Or maybe they'll choose the third house with the shared driveway on a quiet cul-de-sac? The drama escalates when an unexpected permit problem costing 30,000 dollars threatens to turn this fixer upper into a flop. Will the Davis' jump ship and build a new home instead?
Couple With Baby on the Way Looks for a Funky Fixer Upper
Chip and Joanna Gaines take Jill and Josh Barrett on a tour through three houses in the established neighborhood of Wooded Acres. They're looking for a house that will accommodate Josh's four kids and the couple's new baby on the way. The Barretts want a home with a unique look, an open floor plan and an amazing kitchen. They'd like a house that's fun and fresh. A house that's a new slate for them representing their new life together. The Gaines offer an eclectic group of houses from traditional to contemporary.
Retiring to the Country
With two grown kids out of the house, John and Stephanie Eberle agree it's time to downsize and look for the perfect place to relax as they enter retirement. Chip and Johanna take them on a tour of vastly different homes in hopes of satisfying some of their priorities that include a large kitchen, a nice living space and a location that's near amenities while in a quiet neighborhood. They narrow their search to two homes with excellent views in peaceful surroundings but will one home's need of major renovations influence their decision?
Second Chance at a Country Home
After years of living near downtown Waco, Texas, Jordan and Rachel dream of moving to the country with their three children. After their contract falls through on another property, the couple enlists the help of Chip and Joanna in hopes of a second chance for country living. After a home search with surprising results, Chip and Jo get to work bringing these city folk the country home they've dreamed about. While the land may be perfect for the family, the home itself may be one of Chip and Joanna's biggest challenges yet.
Rock Star Renovation
Musician Mike Herrera and his wife, Holli, are moving from Washington state to Waco so they can be closer to Holli's family. They need a house with plenty of space for their two children and a large music studio for Mike. Chip and Jo find the perfect fixer upper, but when Chip comes across some serious structural problems, they realize they might not be able to finish in time for the family's big move.
Family Seeks Spacious Upgrade
Bryce and Emily Sandvall want a new home for their family of five in the Woodway area. They've enlisted Chip and Joanna to help them find a house that's not only right for their family but also has a traditional design style that they love.

With a total budget of $185,000, they are hoping to find a house with 3-4 bedrooms and a large backyard for the kids. They first meet Chip and Joanna at "The Chicken House." True to its name, the house has chickens in the backyard! The second house they visit is "The Outhouse," named for the toilet that stands ready to greet them on the front porch. Last they visit "The Wizard of Waco" house, likely one of the oddest houses in all of Waco.

After Recent Adoption, Family Finds Space to Thrive

Their all-in budget is $175,000 and with Chip and Jo's help, they hope to find a 3-4 bedroom house with a big back yard, a large, open kitchen and plenty of Jo's farmhouse style. Since the family has gone through a recent adoption, Chip and Jo really want to create a special space for the Morgan kids. The result is a Gaines family design face off! With the help of Ella and Emmie, Chip takes on the girls' bedroom, while Joanna, Drake, and Duke tackle the bedroom for the Morgans' son. The Morgans' house is also in need of major updates -- will Chip and Jo be able to create the farmhouse style and functionality the Morgans are looking for?
