Antique Barn Shutter and Metal Rakes Repurposed Into Shelves

In the dining space, designers from America's Most Desperate Kitchens added plenty of storage and a bar area. To add more display options and complete the design in the space, a vintage barn shutter was repurposed into a shelving unit that is illuminated by a bright, broadway light fixture. Vintage metal rakes on either side of the shelves were upcycled and used as wine glass racks.

Bright, Industrial Kitchen with Open Concept Design

America's Most Desperate Kitchen designers John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino wanted to give the homeowners the most efficient space they could, so these Kitchen Cousins removed the walls that closed in this kitchen making it feel small and cramped and created a space that has easy access to all of the common spaces in the home. Then added bright colors to the cabinets and industrial details that helped to bring this space to life.

Chic Subway Tile Backsplash in Industrial, Rustic Kitchen

A trio of industrial-style sconces provide task lighting over the kitchen sink and prep area. Black quartz countertops top the muted gray cabinets, while white subway tile creates a contrasting backsplash. Open shelving with wrought iron brackets keep dishes and mugs handy.

Island Seating for Six in Renovated State of the Art Kitchen

As seen on America's Most Desperate Kitchens, this renovated kitchen space in Carmichael, California has been transformed into a state of the art space. Kitchen Island with Separate Counter Space and Eating Space

This elegant, updated kitchen is designed for entertaining. With comfortable seating for six, the kitchen island extends the countertop space, but keeps the dining space separate. This allows for guests to sit down and eat a formal meal or gives the homeowners the option to lay out a spread and have everyone serve themselves.

New Furniture and Coffered Ceilings in Elegant French Country Dining Room

New furniture and coffered ceilings transform this space into an elegant formal dining room whose design complements the French Country kitchen. The large window lets in plenty of light to illuminate the space and highlight the design, as seen on HGTV's America's Most Desperate Kitchens.

Refrigerator Concealed in Custom Armoire Casing Painted Muted Blue

A focal point in this kitchen featured on America's Most Desperate Kitchens, and a key part to its French Country design is the concealed refrigerator. The custom armoire casing is painted in a muted blue with curved, ceiling height molding that softens the look of the kitchen.

New Cabinets and Countertop in French Country Kitchen

In this renovated Louisiana kitchen featured on America's Most Desperate Kitchens, the curved countertop has been removed to provide the space with easy access to the family room. To create a more elegant space, old, outdated cabinets were replaced with bright white cabinets with a crown molding and a single raised panel for a more sophisticated look.

Comfortable, Rustic Dining Room With Touches of Glamour

The remodeled dining area -- in warm wood tones, muted gray-greens and charcoal -- exemplifies the casual, comfortable vibe the Kitchen Cousins were going for with this renovation. To add historic character to the dining room, stamped-tin tiles were installed on the ceiling. The tiles are in varied patterns alternating between linear, medallion and floral designs. An impressive chandelier adds a touch of elegance to the space.

Industrial Farmhouse

Anthony and John surprise Austin homeowners Josh and Jessica with a plan to remodel their 1940's cramped, drab, dark & dysfunctional kitchen. Hardly updated since it was built, the kitchen is not functional, has no flow and has very little storage for this busy family of 5. The cousins improve flow by removing French doors into a covered porch and adding a wall of cabinets topped with leathered granite, as well as a kitchen island, plenty of prep space and updated stainless steel appliances. The adjoining dining room gains French doors out to the back yard, a pub-height table set upon cabinets, a kids work area, industrial lighting and a wall of storage.
